2/6/12 - LGBT & Caregiver Support Groups

Living our lives as lgbtq individuals can be very rewarding and exciting, yet, we we can all benefit from some social support, including participating in support groups. 

I encourage you to always contact the groups prior to attending any groups to check on the dates, days, times and any other questions you may have about the group.

The following is a list of local groups that could provide some resources and an opportunity to share experiences:

1. 
SAGE Olympia announces the beginning of a support group for LGBT Caregivers starting Thursday evening, February 9th at the Olympia Center, located at 222 Columbia St NE in downtown Olympia. SAGE is a national lgbt organization which stands for "Services and Advocacy for Gay, Bisexual, Lesbian, and Transgender Elders"

2. Alzheimer's Association Support Groups - there are many groups for people with early onset and also for caregivers of people with Alzheimer's (this includes dementia).  The website is:
